Ficus carica variegata combines the bold, lobed structure of edible fig leaves with irregular cream and green marbling that makes each leaf look slightly different. In pots it usually grows as a woody shrub or small tree around 100–150 cm indoors, and with enough maturity and sun it may also produce edible figs.
The plant wants the brightest position available, ideally with at least 6 hours of direct light, plus a gritty, fast-draining mix that dries partly between waterings. It tolerates lower humidity well and benefits from pruning to shape and encourage denser branching. Indoors it is often grown mainly for foliage, but the species still follows a fig rhythm, so reduced winter watering and stable conditions help limit leaf drop. Sap may irritate skin if handled.
