Ficus guianensis is native from Panama and the Windward Islands through much of tropical South America. In the wild it grows as a woody tree in warm, wet tropical habitats.

• Light: Put Trésor where bright indirect light can reach through the open crown. Gentle morning or late-afternoon sun is suitable after gradual adjustment.
• Branching: Its woody branches normally hold the crown upright. If one shoot grows beyond the rest of the plant, cut it just above a leaf node with clean sharp tools. Side branches can then develop below the cut.
• Water: Use the pot weight together with the surface of the mix: water when the surface is dry and the container feels clearly lighter while some moisture remains deeper down. Soak the potting mix thoroughly and let all excess water drain.
• Potting mix: Use a loose houseplant mix with bark and pumice or perlite so water reaches the roots evenly and drains away freely.
• Temperature and humidity: Trésor grows steadily indoors at about 18–27 °C. Moderate household humidity supports fresh leaves as they open.
• Feeding: Feed with a balanced houseplant fertiliser while new leaves and shoots are developing. If growth stops, leave out fertiliser until new growth begins again.
• Repotting: Move up one pot size when roots circle tightly, grow through the drainage holes or you find yourself watering much more often than before.
• Propagation: Propagate Trésor with healthy stem cuttings. Air layering an established stem is another option.

• New growth has long bare stretches between leaves: The plant is not getting enough light. Move the plant toward a brighter window in stages and check whether the next shoot grows with leaves closer together.
• Several green leaves drop soon after the plant is moved: A sudden change in light, temperature or how wet the potting mix is can make leaves drop. Keep Trésor in one bright, stable position and return to a consistent watering rhythm.
• The leaf margins turn dry and brittle: The potting mix may have dried too far, or hot dry air may be passing over the leaves. Rewet the mix evenly and move the plant away from direct heating.
• Firm brown bumps appear with sticky residue: Scale insects are likely. Isolate the plant, remove visible scale from stems and leaves, then use a product labelled for scale on indoor ornamentals and repeat only at the interval stated on the label.

Classical Latin ficus means fig. The epithet guianensis means from Guiana.
