Dioscorea sp. Peru carries pointed, arrow-shaped leaves scattered with small white to pale silver flecks. The smooth green blades have a clear central vein, while backward-facing basal lobes become easier to see as individual leaves enlarge.
Fine twining stems and the broken silver pattern distinguish it from the broader, continuously veined foliage of Dioscorea dodecaneura. “Peru” is a nursery locality name, not a confirmed collection site. The species, mature vine length and dormancy pattern remain unknown.
