Cyperus alternifolius ‘Zumula’ is a bright green, grass-like sedge grown as cat grass, with upright blades forming a soft tuft in a small pot. The species is naturally associated with wet places, so this plant handles more consistent moisture than many foliage houseplants. Bright indirect light to gentle sun, evenly moist substrate and a draining pot keep the blades upright and renewed. Cats may nibble the soft growth, and trimming can encourage a tidier new flush. Replace the pot once the tuft becomes thin or tired-looking.
