Begonia 'Black Fang' is built around contrast: nearly black, serrated leaves radiate from rhizomes with a vivid green star in the centre, while red-tinged stems reinforce the dark palette. The plant stays compact, but the pointed lobes and hard-edged colour pattern give it a much sharper, more graphic presence than softer rex-type begonias.
Bright shade keeps the contrast strong without bleaching the surface, and a lightly moist, airy substrate prevents the rhizomes from rotting while still supporting steady leaf production. Higher humidity helps the edges stay clean, though stagnant, soggy conditions are a bigger threat than brief drying at the surface. Pink flowers can appear, but this cultivar is primarily about foliage shape, dark tone, and the dramatic way the central green star seems to glow against the rest of the blade.
