Mature foliage is broad, leathery and gently curved, eventually building a dense bird’s-nest rosette around 80–100 cm across. Juvenile plants may look almost fluorescent; older plants show a mixture of fresh gold-green leaves and deeper green mature blades. Colour intensity can vary naturally between individual plants and growing conditions.
New leaves open in bright lime, yellow-green or warm golden tones. As they harden, they become firmer and slightly greener, while the newest growth preserves the brightest colour near the centre of the plant.
