Hoya kerrii is the classic heart-leaf species, grown for thick reverse-heart leaves that feel almost succulent and for a slower, sturdier habit than most trailing Hoyas. It is not a fast filler plant, which is part of its appeal: once you have a real stemmed specimen rather than a single novelty leaf, it gradually becomes a long-lived climber with woody vines, aerial roots, and the potential for clusters of waxy flowers.
Its heavy foliage makes it ideal for growers who prefer plants that hold shape and presence without constant trimming or watering. Give it bright indirect light, a very open substrate, and the confidence to let it dry well between waterings, and Hoya kerrii becomes a calm, architectural indoor plant that only improves with age.
