Syngonium Potting Mix

Use this mix when Syngonium need better aeration than generic potting soil can offer, but still react badly to long dry periods.

• Light: Syngonium prefer bright, indirect light; strong, direct sun can scorch leaves.
• Watering: keep the mix evenly, lightly moist – let the top layer dry slightly but avoid letting the pot dry out completely.
• Humidity: higher humidity is helpful; grouping plants or using a humidifier can reduce leaf crisping in very dry air.
• Temperature: warmth and stable conditions suit Syngonium best; avoid cold drafts and sudden temperature swings.
• When to repot: repot when roots become crowded, growth slows without another clear cause, or when the old mix has broken down and no longer drains well.
• Repotting steps: remove as much old soil as possible, rinse roots under lukewarm water, trim dead foliage, add a base layer of Syngonium Potting Mix, position the plant and backfill, keeping the root crown just below the surface.
• Settling the mix: lightly press the substrate to stabilise the plant, then water thoroughly so the mix settles around the roots and air pockets close.
