Spathiphyllum wallisii 'Sensation' variegata is a variegated cultivar of Spathiphyllum wallisii Regel. It is also the largest Spathiphyllum cultivar so far. It features medium green, glossy ribbed leaves with wonderful white variegation and can grow to very large sizes.
The name of the genus Spathiphyllum is the highly vivid Neo–Latinversion of two words of Ancient Greeklanguage, ‘σπάθη’(Indo–European root *sph₂–dʰ–), means sword and ‘φύλλον’, means leave – aptly describing the special shape of the flowers.
he name of the species wallisii was given in honor of the German plant collector Gustav Wallis(1830–1878), who has introduced more than 1000 species of plants in Europe, including many orchids.
