Rhipsalis teres f. prismatica (Lem.) Barthlott & N.P.Taylor is a very full and much-branched form with slender stems with internodes spaced at under 2,5 cm. The stems are cylindrical in newer growth and somewhat angled on old growth. The growing tips, last segments of the stems, are somewhat spiny with tiny bristles or hairs that are shed with age. Flowers are open and whitish and the fruits white to pinkish. Native to Brazil where it is reported to grow as a terrestrial in the sands of the restinga as well as on rocks and on trees. In cultivation it is a strong grower forming very full clumps in a relatively short time.
