Pokon Expanded Clay Balls (LECA) are lightweight, porous clay granules designed to improve plant health by optimizing drainage, aeration, and root stability. These small, round clay balls are baked at high temperatures, creating an airy structure that absorbs and retains moisture without becoming soggy.

How to Use Pokon Expanded Clay Balls?


 → 🌿 For drainage in potted plants:

 
Add a 20-25% layer of LECA at the bottom of your pot.
 
Fill the rest with soil and plant as usual.
 
Ensure outdoor pots have a drainage hole to allow excess water to escape.


 → 💧 For hydroponic (LECA) growing:

 
Rinse the Expanded Clay Balls with lukewarm water.
 
Remove all soil from your plant’s roots and wash them thoroughly.
 
Fill a hydroponic pot with 4 cm of clay balls.
 
Place the plant in the pot and add more clay balls around the roots.
 
Add lukewarm water to the appropriate level.


 → 🏺 As a decorative top layer:

 
Leave a few centimeters of space at the top of your pot.
 
Spread a layer of Expanded Clay Balls over the soil.
 
This helps retain moisture, reduces watering frequency, and enhances the pot’s appearance.


Helpful Tips for Using Expanded Clay Balls (LECA)



 
✔ Reusable - Wash the clay balls when repotting to remove any buildup and use them again.
 
✔ Water absorption - If using in hydroponics, let the balls soak before planting to ensure proper moisture retention.
 
✔ White residue? - Sometimes a white film forms on the balls due to mineral deposits from water. This is normal and does not affect plant health.
