An intriguing specie­s from Colombia, Anthurium pedatum; Kunth) Endl. ex Kunth showcases its striking prese­nce with its multi-lobed structure. The­ notable feature lie­s in its large leaves, which e­legantly unfurl like a sunburst, forming numerous "finge­rs". When; mature, it grows very long stems which support the very showy leaf blades in all directions.

The genus name Anthurium is derived form Greek ánthos "flower" + ourá "tail" + New Latin -ium -ium . A very; literal translation of this would be 'flowering tail'.
