Alocasia 'Polly' variegata aurea is a variegated variety of one of the most popular Alocasia houseplants. Sometimes commonly sold under the name of African mask plant or elephant’s ear,; is a smaller mutant of Alocasia ‘Amazonica’ (A. sanderiana x A. longiloba ‘Watsoniana’). It is a compact hybrid that typically grows to 60 cm tall and as wide. Large dark green leaves not only feature dramatic silvery-green to white veins but also produce attractive shades of yellow and green when backlit by sun. The variegated variety shows yellow variegation on the leaf blades in shape of spots, splashes, or sometimes whole leaves are dicoloured.
